About the site
ArchicadWiki contains all kind of articles related to ArchiCAD: either informative or interesting. This page is edited and maintained by the ArchiCAD user community and administered by the TechnicalSupportTeam, Grahisoft Headquarters. The site is based on the MoinMoin wiki engine.
About site navigation
ArchicadWiki is designed to store thousands of pages (similarly to Wikipedia ), having a basic understanding on site navigation is indispensable so as that you can find effectively the information you are looking for:
Search Form can look up page titles or search in page text, just as other full-text search engines, like Google.
Quick Access buttons at the bottom of the page header provide quick access to the most important entry points.
Hipertext links in articles leave you directly to the page where you can learn more about that particular topic.
Custom options will be available once logged in: you can add your own Quick Access buttons, and the titles of the latest visited pages will appear in page header too.
Additional navigational methods are also available: visit FindPage for further details.
Keep yourself up-to-date
Visit RecentChanges page or follow the changes with your preferred feed reader using the site's RSS Feed if you want to follow the site-wide changes: you can see the recently added pages or get a picture on what kind of modifications have been made since your last visit.
Subscribe to individual pages pressing the Subscribe button next to the edit buttons if you want to receive notifications every time a page is edited (unless the editor marked the edit as a trivial change).
Become a member of the community
- You can edit most pages without being logged, although registration has some advantages:
Your changes will be attributed to you, so ArchicadWiki readers can get to your personal homepage easily.
You will get more functions which will provide a better, customised user experience and more rights in page editing. A new user profile can be created simply by clicking on the Login button, providing your real name in WikiName format, a password and an e-mail address.
Improve the quality of existing articles
- The easiest way of improving this knowledge base is to polish existing articles:
You can correct typos, grammar, and copy+paste existing elements to amend articles without knowing how formatting or linking works.
- The preview button will help you to check your editions. If something is still not correct, you can go back and continue editing, or revert the page to a previous state.
Create new articles
A new article can be started simply either clicking on a non-existent reference or using the page creating forms present on some sites.
Make sure the topic is not covered anywhere else by searching for relevant keywords in ArchiWiki.
- Choose a template and decide which editing mode to use: Text Mode or GUI Mode
