Techtip of December 2007 - Multiple Trace References in Model Views

by Laszlo Nagy, Budapest, Hungary

I kind of don't like the limitation that only one Viewpoint/View/Layout can be displayed as a Reference in a Model View or Layout. I found out a workaround about how we can still do it.

It is a lot simpler, than it seems - and you can have the good old 'paper feeling' back :)

To place multiple trace references in a Model View/Viewpoint, follow the below simple steps:

Hint: you can always turn on or off trace references from the 'View' menu by clicking once on the 'Trace' line (switch).

Hint2: If you want to update the trace references you are using with the changes done in the Model Viewpoint, just select the drawing of the layout with the arrow tool, right click on its node and from the Context menu choose 'Trace>Switch Reference with Active' and you will be back in the 'Trace Layout'. Here just update all drawings and then navigate back to your Model Viewpoint you are working in.
