Using View Lists to Redefine Views

TechTip of the Month winner of 2006 October by EricLink

When you need to set up many templates, this also results in defining and redefining views a lot of the time. This can be somewhat cumbersome in the Organizer. Using the View List to redefine your views works quite well in this case. The best part is being able to see the status of all views in one window. Everything is interactive, so redefining is spot on.

To open the View List, expand Project Indexes from the Project Map in the Navigator pane and select View List.

The downfalls are that only one view can be redefined at a time, and there are no available parameters for Zooming, Floor Plan Cut Plane or Source View.

Hint: Same interactivity can be used with the Sheet Index and Drawing List.
