John Hyland's and Robert Kalocay's tips on shortcuts to Section-Elevation Settings!
"(..)Ever opened a section to realise you need a different setting ( eg elevation range, shadows, vectorial hatching etc)?
Well I just discovered you can go straight to the settings.
With the section window open choose the section icon in the tool box. The info box only shows the section icon but if you double click on the icon (or command T), it brings up the settings for that section view.
You may already know this tip but for years I have been going back to the plan view to select the section line to get the settings."
As usual with ArchiCAD, there are many ways to achieve what you want - thanks go to Robert Kalocay for sharing his method as a reply to John's tip:
"Alternatively (well at least for PC users, not sure about Mac) when you use the navigator all the time, go to the Project map tab and just right click on particular section which allows you to pick from the context menu. It works from any section window... ta-daa"
Hints:
" If using the second method, the Section/Elevation window will disappear while in the Section Settings... dialog. It comes back once the Section Settings dialog is closed."
" You can also just click once on the Section icon in the info box (with the Section/Elevation tool active of course) to open the Settings dialog. Double clicking on the S/E tool works as well."
