Resizing the Layer Name Column in the Layer Settings Dialog - by Daniel Hruby, Berkeley, California, USA
This is one of those simple features which may not be all that obvious to all users of ArchiCAD.
Below is a short description of this problem, and also the solution to it.
"I have always hated how the list of layers is too narrow and resizing the window by dragging the lower left corner just resizes the left column (layer combinations). I discovered that you can resize the layers side of the dialog by closing the layer combo side by clicking the center arrow. Then resize the layer name column a bit wider and then turn the layer combo side back on. Viola."
First open the Layer Settings Dialog, and then click on the shiny 'vertical bar' that separates the two sections. It should be brighter when you hover the mouse cursor over it.
Clicking on it will hide the layer combinations section, until you click on it again.
Now resize the dialog box by dragging the lower right corner of it to the desired width - this will only change the wifth of the Layers section.
Finally, by clicking on the 'vertical bar' you may re-open the Layer Combinations section of this dialog window.
Hint: the Object Settings dialog works similarly, too - if you want to see long paramter names.
