Installing ArchiCAD 9 always requires administrator rights. If setup.exe is running without having administrator rights the installer will fail in different ways depending on whether the Java_Virtual_Machine was installed. The following failure scenarios are possible:

  1. The Java Virtual Machine was not previously installed: an error message will come up in the beginning of the second phase stating that there is no Java Virtual Machine installed.
  2. The Java Virtual Machine is currently installed on the computer: A different error message will come up in the second phase of the installation stating that installing ArchiCAD requires administrator rights.

Note: If the installer files are placed locally and not in a networked computer then the system itself will warn users at the beginning of the whole installation stating that administrator rights are required.
