Issue

During rendering using the LightWorks rendering engine (LWRE), "not enough memory" error occurs. Still, there is over 1 GB of free memory in the system

Cause

Sometimes ArchiCAD runs out of memory even if you have gigs of RAM free, if the largest memory block available is smaler then the amount of Memory ArchiCAD needs in one block. E.g. ArchiCAD needs 400 MB in one block, you have 1500 MB free, but the biggest contigous block is 300 MB, then ArchiCAD will say "not enough memory".

Solution

Try to change LW rendering settings. First, try to change the "method" to "normal" or "better". Then, change Sun settings, as these settings have a heavy effect on memory usage. If realistic sun is used, lower the "number of samples". If just the plain "Sun" is used, change Shadow quality, transparency, and resolution settings.
