Developer Resources

Overview

Graphisoft supports outside ("3rd party") software developers in a variety of ways, and has done so since version 6.0 in 1998. This area of the wiki is designed to complement and augment discussions on the ArchiCAD-talk Developer Forum as well as the information available for review and download at the Graphisoft Developer Center.

The information here is not of general interest to the majority of ArchiCAD users. Even most 'power users' and CAD managers, in fact, will not have the skill set required to take advantage of the majority of the developer tools, however they may want to skim these pages and the information at the Developer Center just to be informed of some of the additional capabilities that the Graphisoft open developer interfaces can provide.

Developer Tools

Graphisoft provides a variety of tools free of charge for efforts in three areas:

1. Custom add-ons (plug-ins): the API and Rendering Developer Kits (see Graphisoft Developer Policy)
   

2. GDL library assembly and management via XML: Library Developer Kit
   

3. Database connectivity: the ODBC driver for Windows
