Issue
A Drawing on a Layout or a view that contains a rotated image does not print, or prints with the image missing.
Cause
ArchiCAD bug in handling rotated images. Resolutions of such images are increased which makes them too large to print
Solution
- Place image in ArchiCAD, rotate as necessary to get the required angle of rotation
- Open the picture in an image editor, rotate with the angle you measured in ArchiCAD, and save it
- Place this edited image in ArchiCAD with 0 degree rotation.
Alternatively: make sure your file (JPG, PNG) is not larger than 1 MB
I have tested this with a G5 and a MAC Book Pro. I am using AC 10 MAC 10.4.10. HP1050C (I have 11 but after reading the reviews considered much to disruptive and costly to change) This is the way I did the test: New and reset Create a C Blank C size master Import a (2) page PDF created with Adobe printer created from Reader 8 Move images close the pdf so the (2) touch and scale to 90% It will fail plotting one of the pages or part of one. Sure if you do not touch the imported pdf it will plot but then try moving the pdf’s it or close and open the pln and it would not work. I have tier al available methods of creating the PDF MAC save to PDF etc. In light of the above GS should post and publish a worming of unreliability. What they did of not warning us is criminally negligent. I have continued the test and noticed that when pdfs touch or are overlapped the 2nd inserted does not print. Separating the pdfs and rebuilding will print again. This was possible only on a new and reset test pln in an exciting no matter what it will give errors. GS must be forced to acknowledge and correct this in all versions. _

How about fixing the 1000+ issues with this software before releasing the next version?

i recently experienced this same problem with three jpeg image files (out of total of 17 image files), each of approx 2.6MB, placed into a large (total 170MB .pln). i found that i if i reverted to AC10, build 1010, that the images printed - no problem. in build 1170 and 1183 they do not print. graphisoft support helped me sort that out and they reported it as a software regression.

You have to place it with 0 degree rotaion AND make sure your file is not larger than 1 MB - this is my expirience working with ArchiCAD.
