Issue
"Usually the system crash happens when starting AC 10 (at least 5 out of 10 times). However if I remove the extra 2GB RAM it works great, without a hitch. No other app ever crashed the system with 4GB of RAM only AC 10. (Most of the time 2-2,5GB is in use by other apps) The strange thing is that I tested both pairs of RAM with AC 10 separately and they preform OK, if both pairs are installed AC 10 crashes the whole system right away. I tested with (512+512)+(1GB+1GB) of RAM and (1GB+1GB)+(1GB+1GB) = no luck. I even tried with 3 different type of RAM with no luck. Seems like AC 10 is unable to run with more than 2GB of RAM.
Trashing the pref files did not help, reinstall likewise. It also crashes with another WIBUKEY.
Archicad 10 (intel) with updates Mac Pro 2,66 4GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT OS X 10.4.8"
Cause
The crash is probably caused by the NVidia GeForce 7300 GT card driver, if the computer has more than 2 GB of RAM installed. In certain scenarios the Video card returns a 32-bit memory address when the system expects a 64-bit address. The problem is not ArchiCAD-specific, it has been reported to occur with other applications that use OpenGL.
Solution
update: The problem is fixed by Mac OS X 10.4.9 system update
