Text and Marker size changes
This Conversion warning may appear when opening a PlotMaker Layout Book in ArchiCAD 10. It usually displays the following message:
Text and Markers size changes. (4 drawings)
In PlotMaker, you set the size of Texts and Markers to retain their original size even after the output scale was modified.(You checked the Fix Size option for Text and Markers in the Drawing Settings dialog box.) This option does not exist in ArchiCAD, so text and markers will be resized according to the scale change just like any other element in the drawing.
The problem occurred with these drawings:
Site Plan
Ground Floor Plan
First Floor Plan
Second Floor Plan
In PlotMaker 9, it is possible that you have modified the Output Scale of a placed Drawing, and set Text & Marker sizes to have a fix size despite this scale change.
This can be achieved the following way:
Select the Drawing the settings of which you wish to modify. Go to the Drawing Settings Dialog. In the Attributes Update Rules panel of the Dialog choose the Custom for this Drawing radio button, and uncheck the Scale checkbox. The Output Scale fields will become enabled in the Attributes panel of the Dialog.
If you specify for Output Scale a value different from the Drawing Scale value, the Text & Markers radio buttons will become enabled.
Choose the Fix Size radio button so the sizes of Text Blocks and Markers will remain the same even the scale of the Drawing is modified.
The warning mentioned at the beginning of the article will now appear when this PlotMaker Layout Book is open in ArchiCAD 10. Since there is no feature in ArchiCAD 10 that could achieve the same result within Drawings, the Resize to Output Scale option will be used, and sizes of Text Blocks and Markers will be enlarged/reduced according to the Output Scale of the Drawing.
