Original output color of Elements drawn or pasted into Layouts has been restored
This Conversion warning may appear when opening a PlotMaker Layout Book in ArchiCAD 10. It usually displays the following message:
Original output color of Elements drawn or pasted into Layouts has been restored.
In PlotMaker you used the Book Settings dialog box to change the output color of elements to grayscale or black.(This setting did not affect drawings or images placed by the Import command.) This option has no equivalent in ArchiCAD, so elements will appear in their original color.
In PlotMaker 9 and earlier versions, you can select Book\Book Settings to set various options affecting the Layout Book.
In the Output Color field of the Book Settings Dialog, you can specify in what Color elements drawn on or pasted into the Layouts of the Layout Book should be printed/plotted.
In ArchiCAD 10, placed Drawings may be set to something similar, but there is no equivalent setting for normal elements placed on Layouts. Therefore, how these elements are printed/plotted is determined globally in the Print/Plot Dialog.
This can give a different result from that of PlotMaker when, for example, you wish to print elements on Layouts in Grayscale, but placed Drawings in Color. This is possible in PlotMaker 9, but not possible in ArchiCAD 10 by Print/Plot settings, because the Color/Grayscale/Black & White setting of the Print/Plot Dialog will affect the Colors of placed Drawings, too.
There is a possible workaround you can use. It has to do with Pen Sets. You can either create or import from another Project File a suitable Pen Set for elements on Layouts. This Pen Set would be defined in such a way so as to let you display your elements on your Layouts in Grayscale or Black. When you Print/Plot the Layout, these elements will be Grayscale/Black, while placed Drawings can retain their defined Colors.
